Katherine Sharman

I grew up in Montrose and went to public schools, graduating from Montrose High School. In 2002, I graduated from The Colorado College with a BA in History. Upon graduation, I first taught at a private school in Colorado Springs and then at a university in Kenya while on a volunteer project with my husband. Eighteen years ago, I started learning about classical education. I have been homeschooling our four children for many years with this approach as my goal. Many people, from many backgrounds, can appreciate great works of literature and the wealth of history that creates them. Such books help us as human beings be aware of our potential to be agents of good, as well as the pitfalls that can stop us. Classical education is rich in history and great books, and that is why I am helping to establish Montrose Classical Academy.
